Climbing back out

I think sometimes we need to talk about the lows, about the worst case scenarios, about how awful we feel and the horrible things we want to do to ourselves. Not to wallow in our sad state but in order to recognize the hole that we are in. 

If we talk about it, really talk about it truthfully, then we can figure out its size and shape; how we got here and how far down we’ve gone.

Only then can we begin to plan our successful climb back out.
